Charles G. Snoek
Born June 19, 1929 in Port Arthur, Texas, Charles George Snoek is a product of Port Arthur Schools, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in January 1947, and receiving his B.S. degree with honors from Lamar Tech., Beaumont, Texas in June 1955. Ten years later, the now Lamar University awarded him with a Phi Kappa Phi Key. After graduation from Lamar, he joined the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company where he worked for 34 years. Mr. Snoek not only worked throughout the world for Upjohn, but completed 2 stays in Japan, the first time as the Managing Director of a joint venture between Upjohn and Mitsubishi; the second was a 5 year stay in Tokyo, Japan where his responsibilities included the coordination of Upjohn's Public Relations throughout Asia. During his tenure, he was presented with Upjohn's highest merit, the William E. Upjohn Award. He retired from Upjohn in January 1990.

After retirement, Mr. Snoek continued to live in Michigan until March 1996. He moved to Onalaska, Texas on Lake Livingston where he took up oil painting in earnest, specializing in surrealism (the art of producing incongruous imagery in art by means of unnatural juxtapositions and combinations). His work; mostly forms of nature, encompasses all mediums, but he prefers acrylics, oils, pen and ink, and airbrush; sometimes mixing all mediums in one work.
Mr. Snoek is married to Port Arthur born and Thomas Jefferson High and North Texas University graduate, Charlotte Lunella McGuire, and has 3 children, 6 grandchildren and one great-grand child.

Now located in Spring Hill, Tennessee, Mr. Snoek is now making reproductions of his art available through his Wide Range Website in the form of note cards, calendars, and prints. The quality of his work makes the cards and prints ideal for gifts or suitable for framing.
